Cuzco Peru
Today I’m reviewing Second Cup’s (I believe, only) fair trade coffee Cuzco. Its labeled as a 3 – medium roast, Peruvian bean from an area near the city of Cuzco (or Cusco).
I must first confess that lighter roasts are not my first choice when it comes to coffee, however, I am looking at this cup from the point of view of a medium roast lover.

I thought that it was mild even considering it was a medium coffee (I ground fresh beans and used 2 Tbsp per 6oz of water).
The taste however, was very pleasant. It was very smooth, with a hint of chocolate.
Considering good quality fair trade coffee can be purchased in the $12 to $17 a pound range in both Canada and the U.S., at $17.95/lb, it seems quite pricy for what you get.
This is very much a Second Cup style of coffee. If you are a Second Cup customer and enjoy a smooth medium blend, why not try this fair trade coffee out for yourself.
